Prompt: Write a scene that involves the words: Ribbon, Trident, Bamboo.

She was such a pretty little girl. She was so very tiny with wide green eyes and long blonde hair pulled back by a silk ribbon. The ribbon matched her favorite dress. She only got to wear the dress on special occasions, like holidays and church events.

She was such a pretty little girl. She used to get so excited when Mother would pull the pretty little red dress out of the back of the closet and brush it off. She would always do a little twirl for Mother once she was fully dressed in her pretty dress and little black button shoes. Her giggles would fill the room, and Mother would give her such a tender smile. Mother would manage to calm her down so that she could brush her golden locks. Once fully brushed, Mother would tie the little red ribbon in her hair. She would jump up and run to the mirror, running her fingers through her hair.

She was such a pretty little girl. On special nights when Father was home for short periods at a time, he would tuck her in tightly, and read her a bedtime story. He'd open up the lard brown book that was hidden under the bed, and crack it open to her favorite stories. The book was filled with the Greek myths and tales. She had heard all of them at least once or twice, but that did not matter. The way Father shaped the words into works of art within her little head always amazed her, and she would always demand another. Father would chuckle, pat her head, and read once more. Her favorite story was about the god Poseidon and how he obtained his trident from the various cyclops they set free. She loved the power in Fathers voice that granted her with images of foaming sea, waves, and roaring storms. When she was satisfied, he would plant a light kiss on her forehead, and she would ask him the same question: Can we go to the beach one day? Father would always give a small smile, untie with ribbon in her hair, and tell her, "One day."

She was such a pretty little girl. She had a pet rabbit the color of soft caramel. She had asked Mother if she could use a ribbon, similar to the one in her hair, to use as a collar. She loved her rabbit very much, and more so when they were matching. She loved cuddling with the ball of fur, and going outside to hop around. She loved her rabbit, her pretty little rabbit.

My, she was such a pretty little girl. She looked so pretty in her little red dress with her hair tied back by that pretty little ribbon. She loved her red dress. That morning, she gave a twirl for Mother, and ran outside with her rabbit in her arms.

She was still such a pretty little girl when they found her. Her pretty little red dress was smuged with dirt, her pretty blonde hair tangled, her ribbon covering her once wide green eyes, a stick as thick as bamboo placed between her teeth, her pale cheeks stained with dry tears and blood, her little hands tied with the ribbon that once occupied her pretty little rabbits neck...

She was such a pretty little girl...

I'm sorry, Mother... Father...
This was a short story I wrote for an exercise in my College Prep English class. We had to write a story that involved the words ribbon, bamboo, and Trident, and I only had a half an hour to write it. I don't know why my mind always goes this way, but it does.

Very nice. I thought there might be a darker turn, but I was expecting something different and rather surprised by the end. The writing was something like a fairy tale and it caught me off guard, in a good way.
